SCHWARTZ COMPARES BARTON TO CHARACTER IN HIS NEW SHOW “CHUCK”

Josh Schwartz was recently asked at a TV Critics press tour for his new show “Chuck” to compare the main character, Chuck to Marissa Cooper from The OC; here’s what Schwartz said:

12:10 pm: A reporter asks Schwartz to compare Chuck star Zachary Levy with his doomed O.C. starlet Mischa Barton. “They’re both tall… and shapely.” But unlike Barton, Levy probably won’t be killed off after three seasons.

Hmmm, so im guessing he knew that it was a mistake to kill off Marissa, and he’s not willing to kill off a main character on his new shows. Well, atleast he’s learnt a lesson!

    DEAMN JOSH YOURE STUPID
BIG MISTAKE KILL HER YES ITS TRUE!!

BUT HEY WHO KNOWS MAYBE HE WILL MAKE THE OC AGAIN SEASON 5 IN 3 OR 5 YEARS

WHEN THE SHOW CHUCK HAS BAD RATINGS

  2. Rudolph Says:

It’s not that he wanted to kill Marissa off the show, Mischa wanted to leave the show to focus on her movie career. And on another note, the part “But unlike Barton, Levy probably won’t be killed off after three seasons.” is obviously not a quote from Josh but from the source.

  3. Alan Palse Says:

I’m totally agree, it was a mistake to kill off Marissa. I love Mischa Barton but leave The OC was stupid idea. I miss this show!!!

Years from now, the real reason behind Mischa Barton’s firing will come out and hopefully people will start to see Josh Schwartz in a better light. A show creator cannot decide on his own to kill off a leading character without the consent of the network.

Personally, I loved the fact that he killed her off. But hey, thats just me.

On all Mischa’s interviews it said that Marissa had run out of things to do, so on option left :death. Why would Josh lie about letting her off the show? She did NOT want to leave the show, but had to… because of Josh. Although her death did not help the show, it is true that Marissa had run out of any exciting things to do. She was a great character but maybe it was just time for her to leave. Plus it I think her loss, developed Ben (Ryan), as a actor, who i thought acted great in season 4. But Taylor and Ryan were never as good as Marissa and Ryan! Who agrees??

  7. amy Says:

Rudolph – no offence, but she did NOT want to leave, it was said in a lot of interviews..

  8. hanna Says:

umm ya she wanted to leave. the show was equally as good without her. ryan and taylor were fine. they werent my favorite couple but i liked her better than marissa.

  9. Liz Says:

I’m glad they killed Marissa, and I’ll take Ryan/Taylor over Ryan/Marissa any day.
